I recently graduated from Grinnell College in May 2025 with a double major in Computer Science and Economics, both with Honors. I also spent a semester at the Budapest University of Technology and Economics in Hungary.
I currently work as Software Engineer at Advanced Technologies Group (ATG), a US Federal and State government software contractor specializing in the correctional industry. At ATG, I build and maintain secure banking and financial applications, primarily using the .NET framework in C# for backend systems, and Angular on the frontend. Having interned as an SWE with ATG in the past, I was offered a full-time position.
I've also interned as an SWE for Rippey AI (previously known as RPA Labs), where I primarily built API endoints in Django. That experience earned me an opportunity to develop software for the STEW Makerspace, a local makerspace in my college town, where I also used Django to host CRM integrations.
Besides my experience with Software Engineering, I've also had experience with Data Analysis at the Data Analysis and Social Inquiry Lab (DASIL) at Grinnell, where I dabbled with theoretical and practical AI/ML, using unsupervised and supervised learning models, by assisting Professors and researchers from non-tech backgrounds in their projects to integrate data science approaches in an inter-disciplinary fashion.

An important value of mine, not only relevant to my career, but also personally, is to constatly get outside of my comfort zone and grow.
While the day-to-day work provides me ample opportunity to write code, I realize that I can't stay within my box, always only using technologies that I use at work. As such, I make some time outside of work to do small projects to learn tools other engineers might be using. Currently, I am learning to utilize concurrency features in Go to build faster servers, and simultaneously learn Docker, Redis, PostgreSQL, and perhaps a bit later in the project, Kubernetes.
I geek out on some areas of humanities and social sciences, especially history and international politics. I'm particularly drawn to mid to late 20th century Middle East history, US foreign policy in that region in that period and around the world, decolonial history, linguistic history, and the political history of Europe since the French revolution. I'm only somewhat familiar to historiography and scholarship outside of these fields, but I do try to keep up-to-date with it every now and then. That means you'll usually find me reading the news or a book, or listening to a lecture on YouTube outside of work.
To me, the highest form of existence is to hike atop a mountain and eat a sandwich. I mean it! But living in Iowa, where everything is as flat as a pancake, I don't really get to do that too often, so I have to rely on occasional vacations to experience that high. Like every young professional these days beginning to enter a mid-life crisis in their early 20's, I run. I do half marathons every once in a while, and perhaps someday in the far future, I'll do a full one. I like biking too, and I've done full-day trails on the gravel and on the road.
Other than that, I do side-quests every once in a while. You'll never find me saying no to a new experience as long as it doesn't risk my life, or empty my pockets.
